Registration FAQ

We understand that daycare registration may be new to you, so we have provided answers to some common questions below. We welcome you to contact us directly if you need more information about any of our programs and how to register.

• How do I register my child in daycare?

  All registrations go through the city of Ottawa registration and waitlist. You must pick our centre on the chosen list for us to be able to see your application.

• Do I need to apply through the City of Ottawa to enrol my child in a City View Centre program?

  Yes, you must enrol your child through this waitlist.

• When is the best time to register my child in daycare?

  As soon as you know that you would use a child care centre for care, you should register your child. You can register them as early as pregnancy and update the information once your child is born. The important piece is to keep your information updated.

• If spaces are available, do I still need to go on the City of Ottawa Registry and Waitlist?

  Yes, everyone must register through the city's waitlist.

• Is there a registration cost?

  There is no cost to register or to be added to the waitlist. There is a cost once you accept the space.

• Are child care subsidies available?

  Yes, subsidized spaces are available through the City of Ottawa. You can start care before you are accepted for a subsidy. You will, however, still be responsible for fees until your subsidy is approved.

• Does my second child get priority if I already have one child at City View Centre?

  Yes, we prioritize siblings.

• Is my fee reduced if I have more than one child?

  No, unfortunately, child care fees are set per space.

• How much does the infant care program cost?

  As of April 1st, 2022, fees are $80.58 per day, billed monthly or bi-monthly.

• How much does the toddler care program cost?

  As of April 1st, 2022, fees are $66.51 per day, billed monthly or bi-monthly.

• How much does the preschool program cost?

  As of April 1st, 2022, fees are $48.25 per day, billed monthly or bi-monthly.

• How much does the flexible care program cost?

  As of April 1st, 2022 fees are $61.20 per use, this includes up to 10 hours of care, additional hours are charged at $6.20 per hour (ie, 12 hours of care = $61.20 + 2 x $6.20 = $73.60). Payment is due before use.

• How much does the nursery school program cost?

  As of April 1st, 2022, fees are $22.35 per day, billed monthly or bi-monthly.

• How much does the home child care program cost?

  As of April 1st, 2022, fees are $44.95 per full day, billed monthly or bi-monthly.
