We take care of your babies as if they were our own, providing a safe and secure space for them to thrive.
Entrusting your infant's daily care to someone outside your family circle, for many parents, comes with many emotions. At City View Centre, we've helped parents take this first difficult step for over 45 years. We take the time to get to know your infant's unique personality to build and foster a strong bond.
We recognize that you are the primary caregiver and will work to maintain your complete trust while your child is in our care. No one can replace you as parents, but we'll try hard to be a close second.
Our Infant Child Care Program
Warm cuddles and heaps of love are plentiful in our nursery. With an average infant age of 12-18 months, our experienced staff give their full attention, plus more, to the care of our littlest people. The program's ratio is one (1) educator for every three (3) children, to a maximum of 10.
The watchful eyes of our Program Managers and Executive Director are never far. They oversee all aspects of the program, ensuring that every child receives the highest quality care and that our curriculums and child care values are respected.
Are you afraid of missing your little one while they are in our care? Parents are always welcome to contact us by phone or email. We are happy to address any concerns or keep you updated on how your infant is doing.
You should always feel secure that your infant is safe and happy.
Your Child's Safety is Our #1 Priority
- All staff are carefully screened and must provide a negative Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector, proof of up-to-date immunizations, and standard first aid and CPR Certificate.
- A Canadian Certified Playground Inspector regularly inspects outdoor playgrounds.
- Our Registered Child Care Educators to child ratio exceed government standards.
How Learning Happens
City View Centre offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to give your infant the best start in life. Each day, our curriculum exposes your infant to various activities encouraging investigation into the world around them. Our highly trained staff will shower your child with love and affection while providing individualized care to ensure they have an enriching experience from day one!
Our educators always seek opportunities to encourage and reward your infant's natural curiosity. Including one-on-one tummy time, movement sessions and music time to promote physical, cognitive and social-emotional growth.
We understand the importance of providing your child with a warm and loving home away from home. Our program is led by caring and dedicated professionals academically trained in child care. The curriculum is carefully designed by Registered Childhood Educators using the "How Does Learning Happen" (HDLH) and "Early Learning For Every Child Today" (ELECT) frameworks.
A Typical Day
Each infant is unique, therefore our infant care program does not follow a traditional schedule. Instead, we care for your child based on what they need daily. Our educators ensure they are always blanketed in love and never miss a learning or discovery opportunity. On their own timetable, your child will participate in singing and playtime activities, stroller walks and outdoor fun in their own play yard.
Our onsite chef serves nutritious meals and snacks that follow Canada's Food Guide. Parents may send food from home for infants with specific dietary requirements. Each infant naps and sleeps in their crib and is welcome to bring their own favourite blanket and sleep toy from home.
Infant Child Care Program Rates
Rates as of December 31, 2022: $38.07 per day billed monthly or bi-monthly.
Please note that the rate posted is as of the time of the website update. Rates are subject to change and are approved by the City of Ottawa. We are mandated to stay within the medium price point for our service area.
